I soooooo hate speaking about me…
As you’ll have gathered, my name is Andrew Slorance, I’m a thoroughbred Scot, born and raised in the bonny Borders town of Hawick and having lived and worked in the world’s most beautiful city – Edinburgh – for more than 20 years.
Married to the incredibly patient Louise, I’m dad and daddy to 5 wonderful children – Finlay, Olivia, Millie, Glen and Kyle.
Husband, father, son, brother, pen pusher, pedant, (bad) cyclist, contrarian, social media addict, and when all of this isn’t keeping me busy I’m trying to kick the living sh*t out of a rare cancer called Mantle Cell Lymphoma.
This blog is about my journey.
It’ll be hellishly self-indulgent, so you have been warned. But I hope it can also offer inspiration, provide insight, help de-mystify the cancer fight, and provide me with an outlet to share my good times and my bad to a hopefully appreciative audience.
As I say in my first post, I’m a great believer in the mantra that the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.
I’d also say that I’d hate people who want to say something feeling that the can’t. By all means give me your support (if you wish!); but also give me feedback; feed me gossip; share your jokes and good news; and ask any, and I mean ANY question that you might have.
Welcome to my journey x
